The New River Challenge

September 15th, 2012

The Challenge is a 40 mile bike ride, 12.1 mile kayak run, and a half marathon along the scenic New River Trail. The triathlon is a timed, competitive event but many of our athletes do it as a “fun run”. Most participants do the Challenge as a two or three person team, or you can do it solo if you wish.

Shrek is from Northhills High School, Pittsburgh, PA and attends Virginia Tech. Ian ran in high school and for the Hokies. Ian has been with RunAbout Sports for almost two years. Besides running in Pandapas (his favorite route is Beauty) he enjoys cycling and has an unhealthy obsession with the Pittsburgh Steelers. His favorite animals are cougars.
