Hi fitness enthusiasts!

Hope everyone is healthy and enjoying the summer weather (finally!).
Runners are often seen as solitary individuals, but we all know it’s nice to run with a group sometimes. On Wednesday nights at Runabout, we have a growing group of walkers and runners that leave at 6:00 PM for a three to ten miler (the average is 4-5 miles). We started off with twelve people and now have 20-22 showing up every Wednesday rain or shine.
Runabout Sports will be giving out Evapo8 shirts (like a Dri fit) to anyone who reaches 100 miles of running or 50 miles of walking. Plus the last Wednesday in the month is free Bar day. Everyone who runs or walks gets a free Powerbar, Clifbar, Luna, Clif shot or gel.
For those that really stick with it, we have the 500 mile club (250 for walking). Those that reach this level will receive a $50.00 gift certificate to the store. Come by and check out the bulletin board for the weekly mileage updates. We hope you get the chance to run and walk with us on Wednesday night.
Be Fit!
James DeMarco

Monthly Training Tip:
After a training run, try spraying your legs with cold water. The water will cool your legs, but it will also help in RECOVERY. Cold water will constrict the muscles and help get rid of the “junk” that accumulates in the legs from a run. It basically flushes the “waste products” from the muscles, making the next run more enjoyable.
Volunteer drawing of the month: Congrats to Mike Matzuk. He is our second winner from our exceptional volunteer list from area race directors/groups. He was nominated for volunteering for trail maintenance. Mike wins a $50.00 gift certificate.
